editing software i used:

photoshop, paint.net, winmorph, blender.

a collaboration between myself and contemplexitus:

here's his original manipulated still image:

how to enable looping of videos on da:

right mouse click on the full screen video and a popup menu gives the option.

technically, this is how my video clips are intended to be viewed, as playing them just once through is not nearly as effective, or powerful. since the hypnotic effect relies on many repetitions. be warned though. you might lose track of time or experience other side effects.

Soo cool man!! ;) (Wink) I love how the eye seems to project and consume the colors waves as one might in such a heightened and maybe altered state of mind.  Fine work!Clap

This might have been entirely done in Blender-- why use WinMorph? Just sayin.

art4med, sorry i only just noticed your comment. i have recently decided, i no longer wish to use winmorph for abstract work, as it's too buggy and it's morph targets are not accurate enough to set up in the interface.

i guess this could be done with bone deformations? do you know if we can morph uv's yet in blender?

thanks doolhoofd.

contemplexitus helped concept design the final color cycling, which is better than my first test renders i showed him. there were a few technical hurdles to overcome, but overall it was a lot of fun us brainstorming this project. hopefully he and i can work on more freaky collaborations in the future.

would you perhaps like us to collaborate some time?

How?

I mostly write stuff... experimental philosophy... - well, it's usually more of an experiment than actual philosophy...

well if you still had the original unedited photo of your "mexican wave" manipulation, i could in theory morph between the two still images, and color cycle them, like i did with contemplexitus's work above.

Oh, yeah, I still have that. But... I don't know if I want them morphed.... it feels weird just thinking about it...

it's totally up to you doolhoofd, no pressure at all... i'm just saying i could perhaps, if you wanted, do something with your still images in the future, even if it was just color cycling the cd part?

currently i'm working on something else though, so you have plenty of time to consider this. i won't be offended if you decline the offer.
